There's good doomsday, and the bad doomsday -- yesterday was predicted as the end of the world by one in a long line of doomsdays prophets. Yet today, another will be taken seriously, by adding the word ... science ... to his prognostications. Marketing is important I guess.
My prognostication is that both are wrong, but I bet there are and will continue to be individual doomsdays that impact each one of us. The loss of a loved one, a change in beliefs after seeing new information relative to one's experience, or maybe even natural disasters and what not. These doomsdays have been with us since time began.
